“Hello Shaklee Family!
I am deeply honored and excited to welcome Maria Shriver to Shaklee Live 2014 as our special guest speaker.
Maria is the mother of four, a Peabody® and Emmy®-winning journalist and producer, a six-timeNew York Times® best-selling author, and NBC News Special Anchor reporting on the shifting roles, emerging power and evolving needs of women in modern life.
She is the producer of the groundbreaking and award-winning series of Shriver Reports which explore and chronicle the impact on women of cultural and social changes, most recently A Woman’s Nation Pushes Back from the Brink and the 2014 documentary Paycheck to Paycheck: The Life and Times of Kristina Gilbert which was recently nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special.
During her tenure as California’s First Lady from 2003 to 2010, Maria spearheaded what became the nation’s premier forum for women, The Women’s Conference.
She has also used her influence and journalistic abilities to spotlight the profound impact of Alzheimer’s disease and is one of the nation’s leading advocates for families struggling with this devastating disease. She was instrumental in the 2010 passage of the National Alzheimer’s Project Act and serves on the advisory board of the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas.
Maria’s work is informed by her belief that all of us have the ability to be what she calls Architects of Change — people who see a problem in their own life or the community around them, then step out of their comfort zone and do what it takes to create the solution.
We are so excited to have her at Shaklee Live 2014 because we feel her own life’s work beautifully aligns with the spirit of The Shaklee Effect™ – the powerful idea that each of us can take small steps every day that can lead to a transformational impact on our health, our families, and our communities.
Join me at Shaklee Live in Long Beach to hear from this incredible journalist, author, activist and architect for change. I know you will be deeply inspired by her message of empowerment, growth and social change.
Warm regards,
Roger Barnett
