MICHELLE LYON: Executive Coordinator in Fort Collins, Colorado
“My Shaklee story started 25 years ago when my dad was diagnosed with cancer and given 3 months to live. I was 20 and he was 45 years old. When you watch someone lose their health and their life – you see the world differently. I had my own health challenges in my 20s and was introduced to the Shaklee products. I didn’t know I wasn’t healthy until I got healthy. My body truly thanked me for the quality nutrition. My family and I have used the products for over 15 years and it’s been an incredible journey of feeling healthy, feeling educated, and feeling empowered. In fact my husband is a firefighter and every 5 years they do an intense physical fitness test accompanied by blood work, heart monitoring, and an overall physical. They told him just recently that he is healthier today on ALL levels than he was 10 years ago. It is proven on paper and in his bloodwork. That is the power of Shaklee long term!
In 2006, I decided to build a business. When I made the decision to build a business I was looking for an opportunity to stay home with my kids, make good money, make a difference in people’s lives, and do something I enjoy. What I found was a lifestyle I love! It was amazing to be able to stay home with my kids and slowly build a team of people who share similar passions of sharing health. Several years ago I reached a plateau and felt stuck. I wasn’t growing and it seemed like I was missing something in how to gain momentum. I was sharing my frustrations with my upline, Janelle Devlin, and she shared with me her experience of having a business coach and suggested I hire someone. BEST DECISION I’ve made for my business – hands down! I was able to work through my mindset and how certain terminology like setting PV goals and sponsoring goals were messing with my head. When I redirected these goals to helping people and caring for people, my business doubled in a year.
The Cleveland Global Conference was another turning point for me. When Roger Barnett announced the Chairman’s Leadership Retreat, I knew right there and then that I would do whatever it took to earn that trip. Because I knew that in order to grow I would need to learn to be a better leader. The thing is, I knew that I would earn it. I knew what it would take, I brainstormed with my business coach the right action plan for me and I worked really hard to make it happen. That conference was life changing. It set me on a course of being hungry for training and leadership skills, and anything I could get my hands on to skill up. After Chairman’s Retreat, I advanced to Executive Coordinator, was on the Top 10 Wall of Honor at the Orlando Global Conference for PGV growth, and earned the Dream Trip. It has been a road of learning to build a team and help others reach their goals. I am now currently getting certified to be a Business Coach. Paying it forward…”
It was so exciting to run into Michelle on the stage as a fellow Wall of Honor recipient last summer! Her name and accomplishment is part of Shaklee Headquarters history, you can find it there in Pleasanton if you visit. She will no doubt keep making her mark moving forward!
She has been prized by her branch of our Ewing Organization Shaklee tree. Consider the long history of her Shaklee lineage…
