CATHERINE COBB: Coordinator in Calabasas, California

“I’ve been inspired by this company for 49 years, when as a little kid on a camping trip I appreciated that just a tiny bit of Basic-H would allow my family to manage both our personal hygiene and the dishes, in the wilderness, without harming the fish downstream. It amazed me, even then. Shaklee has been a big part of my life all these years as a best kept family secret; we were just happy customers. In 2001 I became a stay at home dog mom after being downsized from corporate America. This led to my first at home business, Fido Fitness. It wasn’t until I had a financial need in 2005 that it even occurred to me that I could do Shaklee as a business too.

Two things come to mind about my motivation: I was tired of being afraid of the mail. Seems silly perhaps, but I let financial worry eat me up with anxiety and fear. Can anyone relate? The other thing was traffic! I did not want to ever again have to sit in 4 hours of daily commuter traffic just to get to a job that didn’t appreciate the effort I put into it.

I am a Legacy Coordinator and have enjoyed multiple incentive trips, qualifying my very first year in business, and I’ve been recognized onstage at the annual Global Conference as a multiple star achiever. Recognition and a sense of community are important to me as a human being, and Shaklee fills me up with joy. There’s nothing better than attending Global Conference, and each year they just get better.

I had reached a plateau in my business, I’d let it grow stagnant with lack of follow-up, ‘head trash’ and self-doubt. Fun fact: although life had pulled my attention elsewhere, I never missed a bonus check, even with my business on a back burner for a few years. But now I was ready for a breakthrough, how timely, right? Well, I got exactly what I needed in Atlanta this summer. My desire was to know that I had it within me to build my own team, a big one. But would anyone follow me? Was I a good leader? My answer came on Saturday morning, as I was a ‘board holder’ about to lead a team! Everyone broke their board, even though some didn’t succeed on the first or second try. There were even a couple of guys who wandered by and decided to join our team and they broke their boards too. We all grew that day, and my team gave me the certainty I was looking for. Now I’m ready and I am looking forward to a very bright future!”

Cath has a constant optimistic spirit and always finds a way to plug into all things happening in Shaklee in Southern California. Her canine businesses also keep her active and embodying the Shaklee lifestyle!
