DONNA, BILL, & COLLEEN MURPHY: Master Coordinators in Easton, Pennsylvania
“Our Shaklee legacy started back in 1967 with my parents when it was not fashionable to be using ‘green’ products and food supplements.
After 25 years, a high school classmate reconnected with my parents and asked them ‘how would you like to make an extra $1,000 a month working part time from the home?’ My father was skeptical at the time, however my mother fell in love with Basic-H. Back in the day, Basic H was worth 2 PV points and Business Leaders had to maintain 3,000 PV a month.
My mother qualified as a Business Leader with just Basic-H. Imagine: that was 1,500 bottles of Basic-H a month sold. It gets better; the products were shipped from California to Pennsylvania. During the winter months my parents would have to order enough Basic-H to satisfy their customers due to the product freezing. We lived in a college town and all our deliveries each month came on a big tractor trailer. Thankfully we had great neighbors who understood.
In a very short period of time, the food supplements became the frontrunner base of our business and the business truly took off. My father was a mechanical engineer and decided to retire at the age of 50 and join my mother in the business. They enjoyed so many perks that Shaklee offers like trips, luxury cars, and a lifestyle they always dreamed about.
As a teenager I was not a big fan of my parent’s involvement with Shaklee. There were people always stopping by for product, meetings being held in our living room, and inventory everywhere. Slowly I caved in and started using the Protein and Vita-Lea, which changed my energy level and life.
My interest began with earning enough money to pay for my personal products. Eventually life changed when my husband and I started our own family. It was always very important for me to be a stay at home mom. The decision was made to leave my corporate job and build a career in Shaklee. We have followed in my parent’s footsteps and history has repeated itself with my husband taking early retirement 16 years ago, joining me in the business.
Today our Shaklee journey continues three and four generations. Our children and grandchildren are all Shakleei-zed and our daughter Colleen also made a decision to continue a career in Shaklee while staying at home with her son.
We feel blessed for our Shaklee business and are so grateful for our wonderful team of leaders.”
