ALMA (& MAURICE) TERWISKE: Senior Key Coordinators in Yorba Linda, California
Last month, one of Bob and Pat Ewing’s dearest friends of 5 decades and 1st level Business Leaders passed away. Along with her husband, they built one of the original Master Coordinator Shaklee businesses in the 1970s. Today their daughter carries on their Shaklee legacy with an organization that created 3 Master Coordinatorships as well. This month’s spotlight is a tribute to our family friend that will be very much missed…
“Alma Jean Terwiske passed away peacefully at her home in Yorba Linda, California on June 20, 2018, surrounded by family after a short bout with cancer. She was born August 25, 1924 in Oceanville, New Jersey and was the seventh of 10 children born to Martin and Johanna Lashley. After high school, Alma worked as a waitress on the New Jersey boardwalk before driving cross country with a girlfriend to San Diego and getting a job at the San Diego Zoo. Shortly after moving west, she met the love of her life, Maurice (Ski) Terwiske, on a blind date and proceeded to marry him on April 9, 1953. Ski was enlisted in the Navy and was deployed overseas shortly after they wed. Alma welcomed the first of their three children, Donald, in 1954, and had two more children, Lisa and Dennis, in the years that followed. At 40 years young, Alma started her own business with Shaklee and quickly became one of their top business leaders. She was humble, kind hearted, generous, and had a positive charm that made everyone feel welcome. There wasn’t a person she met that didn’t become her friend. Alma loved parties and traveling, but the greatest joy in her life was that her three children genuinely loved and cared for each other. Her priority was their happiness, and that they would always have a roof over their heads. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Alma was proceeded in death by her husband Maurice Terwiske, son Dennis, parents Martin and Johanna Lashley, and all her nine siblings. She is survived by her children Lisa Mercer and Donald Terwiske, nine grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.”
Consider the long history of her Shaklee lineage…
